Find the right ring size with a few simple checks, taken at a calm moment.
Before you start measuring
Finger size can vary slightly during the day and depending on the temperature. Take measurements at a comfortable room temperature. Avoid taking measurements when your fingers are unusually cold, swollen, or immediately after intense physical activity.
Instead of relying on a single result, repeating the same method at a different time can help you see if there's a significant difference.
Measuring with a ring you own
Choose a suitable ring
Use a ring that fits comfortably on the finger you intend to wear it on and has an undamaged circle.
Measure the inner diameter
Place the ring on a flat surface. Measure the widest straight distance passing through the center, from one inner edge to the opposite inner edge. Do not include the metal thickness in your measurement.
Double-check the result
Recheck the starting point of the ruler and the opposite edge. If you are sharing a photo, make sure the measuring tool appears on the same plane as the ring.
Measuring your finger
A non-stretchable, thin strip of paper or a similar measuring tool can be placed around the finger without constricting the skin. The marked circumference is then measured on a flat surface. The strip should not be too loose on the finger, but also not so tight that it leaves a mark on the skin.
Remember that the ring needs to pass over the knuckle. If there is a significant difference between the base of the finger and the knuckle, considering both points provides a more accurate assessment.
Comfortable wear is the balance between the ring staying in place and passing over the knuckle without difficulty.
When you are between two sizes
If your results fall between two sizes, instead of simply choosing the mathematically closest value, also consider the ring's form and how it feels to wear. Wide bands might feel tighter; however, since width or special size information is not yet provided for every product at Nilya, a general rule for selection should not be offered.
